Try Undo before Reset
If a stone, dragon, or other object starts in the wrong place after Reset, Undo back to the beginning of the puzzle, then Reset again. Compare the important objects with the starting layout before entering a long solution.
- Preserve your save.
- Use Undo until you return to the state when you entered this puzzle.
- Use Reset.
- Check the characters, stones, monsters, water, and other moving objects against the guide’s initial layout.
- If they still differ, record the puzzle name, platform, build, and changed positions before continuing troubleshooting.
Holding Z is one PC player’s Undo binding. Use your configured action on another platform. Do not delete or overwrite your save as a first response.
What the patch notes distinguish
| Update | What it addressed |
|---|---|
| Steam r67255, October 16 | Repeated Reset after moving stones or changing currents could cause a crash or a very large save |
| Steam r67271, October 17 | Listed incorrect reset state as a known issue and recommended Undo to the start before Reset |
| PS5 update, October 17 | Save protection against repeated-Reset memory problems and some undo/save-related launch crashes |
| Switch 2 update, October 23 | Brought the platform in line with the then-current PS5 version |
Save protection and platform parity do not by themselves mean every board-state reset issue has disappeared. Those announcements do not establish a permanent fix for the starting-layout symptom.
Before retrying an exact input route
An older video can use a different layout. A Reset fault can also leave the right puzzle in the wrong state. Check both possibilities before changing the input sequence. If a route diverges again, stop at the first mismatch so you can identify the actual cause.
